PCM-555 Automatic Self Test

The Auto Self  Test is a sequence of individual PCM tests.  These tests are designed to provide a service technician with a quick method of testing engine actuators, ignition coils, fuel injectors and sensors to determine if they are operating within an acceptable range.

Automatic Self Test Form

The Automatic Self Test comprises of the following sequence of tests:

  1. First Diacom will check the engine speed to ensure the cancellation of the test in case the engine is running. 
  2. Ignition Coil Actuation Test: all coils will be turned on for 20 seconds.
  3. Injector Actuation Test: all injectors will be turned on for 20 seconds.
  4. Warning Buzzer Test: the horn will be turned on-off 5 times.
  5. IAC Test: IAC valve will be incrementally positioned from 0 to 100% in 5% steps.
  6. Fuel Pump Relay Test: the fuel pump will be turned on-off 5 times.

The test can be stopped at any time by pressing the Abort button.
