Using "/F" command line switch

The "/F" Diacom command line switch is used to overcome incompatibilities in certain laptop PCs which employed motherboard chip sets that did not conform to the original IBM PC architecture.    Ironically,  even some laptops manufactured by IBM Corp may require the use of this startup switch.

1. Change to your hard drive's root directory.

For example if your screen displays:

C:\windows

Type in "cd\" and press enter (this command will switch to your root directory).

2.  From the root directory change to the Diacom program's installation directory.

At the C:\ prompt type in "cd\DIACOM"  if you have a standard version of Diacom or "cd\DIACOM-P"  if you have a Diacom Plus version).

If you cannot locate your Diacom directory, type in the command "dir/p" (directory display one page at a time) and look for your original Diacom installation directory.

3. After switching to the Diacom program's installation directory,  run the Diacom program with the "/F" option by typing in the following:

GMECM /F

then press "Enter" ( please note that you must use the forward slash " / " not the back slash " \ " !).

(Note: Diacom's main program file is named "GMECM.EXE" on your hard drive.)
